This item can be used as a garlic grater because of the raised texture. Just grate your garlic clove on the surface of the clay and add olive oil and or herbs for a great little dipping dish for bread. Great to use as a soap dish, spoon rest or a small tray for olives and pickles. So many possibilities! These pieces are approximately 4.5 inches in diameter and will vary slightly in size, shape and color as they are handmade, one piece at a time. They are not completely round and the distinct difference from piece to piece shows the beauty that you can only find in handmade work. Covered with a glossy food safe glaze and fired to 2000 degrees F (earthenware)
